Who is this course suitable for?

This course is designed for beginners (TOPIK I / A1 level) who are planning to take the official Test of Proficiency in Korean. It’s ideal for students, working professionals, or K-culture enthusiasts who want to build foundational listening and reading skills for the TOPIK exam.

Are sessions conducted online or in-person?

All classes are conducted online via Google Meet. This mode offers flexibility for participants to join from anywhere, saves travel time, and allows convenient access to digital materials and feedback.

How long is the course and what is the schedule?

The course runs for 10 weeks, with one class per week, lasting 1 hour each. Specific class times will be communicated upon registration.

Who is the instructor?

Your instructor is Ms Siti Nur Aminah Binti Abd Samad, a Korean language lecturer at IIUM with a Master’s degree in Korean Education from Keimyung University. She is also a certified TOPIK Level 5 holder and experienced interpreter, translator, and educator in the Korean–Malay/English language field.

What does the course focus on?

The course focuses specifically on the Listening (듣기) and Reading (읽기) sections of the TOPIK I exam. You’ll practise real test questions, review vocabulary and grammar, and learn effective exam strategies.

Will I receive any practice tests?

Yes. The course includes weekly exercises, listening and reading drills, as well as mock exams in Weeks 8–10 to simulate the actual test environment and track your progress.

Is there a certificate provided after completion?

While the course prepares you for the official TOPIK exam, it does not provide a formal certificate. However, you will receive a certificate of attendance from the organizer after the course completed.

How much does the course cost?

The full 10-week programme is RM150.00 only, making it a highly affordable option for comprehensive exam preparation.

Your Instructor, Ms. Siti Nur Aminah binti Abd Samad

With a Master’s in Korean Education from Keimyung University, Korea and TOPIK Level 5 certification, Ms. Aminah brings years of experience as a Korean language lecturer, translator, and interpreter. She has worked with institutions such as Samsung SDI, IPG Malaysia, and the Ministry of Youth & Sports, and is currently a Korean Lecturer at IIUM Pagoh.
